Get to know dreams as guides through your own psychological reality
Have you ever woken up feeling like your dream sent you a message—you just don’t know what it was or how to interpret it? Or perhaps you think dreams are just a meaningless replay of what you experienced the day before?
Almost all of us want to know if our dreams have any meaning. To understand what meaning and benefit dreams might hold for us, we need to become familiar with the forgotten language of dreams.
The Forgotten Language of Dreams is an experiential workshop based on Freud’s psychoanalytic theory and dream interpretation practices, Lacan’s psychoanalysis, Jung’s analytical psychology, and Gestalt psychology.
Dreams are just the starting point—where they take us, we’ll see… If you’re open to new experiences, willing to freely associate, or ready to experiment and play… you may discover something truly valuable in your journey of self-discovery. I believe the most valuable thing we learn in the process of dream analysis is the learning process itself—the openness to unexplored parts of ourselves, the learning of how to learn about ourselves—metacognition.
That’s where the focus of this workshop lies—on learning how to learn about yourself. Dreams are simply the entry point, the material we use to practice developing metacognitive skills for self-exploration. You’ll explore parts of your personality you may not even be aware of.
The OLI method views dreams as one of the many ways through which a person can learn more about themselves, without being overwhelmed by theory.
